Help for the Goals You Want to Meet
Coaching differs from psychotherapy. If you know that you need a coach, you’ve probably made some discoveries about your life, have a sense of how you’d like to move forward, and want some help in getting started or staying on track.
Coaching is a short-term option that can help with advancing a career; making it through academic hurdles; becoming more organized; starting a business; or making life changes such as eating differently, exercising, or kicking a smoking habit.
Some of the things that coaching does effectively are:
- help to see the big picture
- frame practical goals
- identify obstacles
- brainstorm to find resources
- maintain accountability for intentions
- celebrate and provide closure
